Did some light lifting today.
Planning to put my best effort into preparing my body for Hood to Coast!
I'm not huge on putting focus on lifting anything beyond my own weight any more. Staying limber with yoga, keeping my cardio-activity up and 2 of mildly weighted circuits per week are all my body needs to stay consistently driven, balanced, and most importantly... feminine :)
Mildly weighted circuit:
- Start with power knees, burpees, + skater jumps (Duration of 2 songs - 3-4 minute songs)
* Intermission *
- Place weights on bar - I used a little more than half my weight
1.) Bent over row> Down> Upright row> Clean
(1 full - 4-5 minute song - Electric Guest's "Awake")
2.) Alternate: Bent over row> Curl
(Repeat for at least 1 full - 3 minute song)
3.) Lunges w/ shoulder press > 20-24 on each leg
4.) Weighted squats - elbows over knees (form is everything!)
(1 full - 4-5 minute song OR 2 3 minute songs if I'm up to it)
Cool down with alternating jump-lunges, power knees and squat-jacks/ regular-jacks
(Just long enough to shake out tight muscles)
AND FINALLY> Vinyasa-Hatha yoga - A semi-restoritive yoga "slowflow" I designed for my body type which includes several long-held poses and stretches. These stretches are done in sequential order:
Mountain fold> Plank> Chaturanga> Cobra etc.
