Posting Progression

I'm really sick of this constant bias between confidence and conceit.

I am aware of my flaws... and my feats;
Not regretful nor boastful of them.

I work for change;
I am not a martyr.

I am grateful of recognition
Though I'm guilty  expecting it.

I sincerely try to work on ceasing my societal prejudice of others. But nobody is perfect... and I as well am guilty of conceit...

Nobody should feel an imbalance in this.
Show everyone who you are...

Feel what you do is for yourself and not others.

This is YOUR karma.

Pincha progression

It's crazy to think of how far I've come from my very first pincha mayurasana.
Going from a very well supported wall mount to a completely unassisted forearm balance feels like such a great feat!
Though my new goal will be to do a press from a forward fold!

Just a quick lunch break

To run a quick mile. Pretty sure I beat my personal best yesterday but my GPS crapped out in the middle of my run so I have no idea... nonetheless, I beat it today. By almost 20 seconds! Sweet. Always room for improvement! I love my job :)

She cleans up!

I feel pretty today in my "just going to pick up my kid from school" outfit. Went on a nice mile run. Even upped my personal best since before winter and ran it in 8 mins 47 seconds. (If only you knew how much that odd number drove me insane). At least there's always room for improvement! Settled my run with some vinyassa flow and thus concluded my "work out/ work routine". Man, I love working from home.

This just happened...

My first time EVER doing a pop up into a well supported forearm stand! I even held it for 20 seconds! (I got kinda shakey) it just goes to show you, practice leads to progression!

Progression:

The unavoidable surmise of what change brings.

What a lot of people don't realize with all these: "Lose 20 lbs in 3 weeks" programs, is that our bodies will become more susceptible to relapse. The culprit is called: Over Conditioning.
The idea that the more you increase a routine or work-out's duration per hour and week, the faster your body regains. This is especially true with mom's trying to lose their baby weight w/ these "Get fit, quick" schemes.

I tried a 6 day, high-intensity/ explosive regimen to lose my weight. The result: 1-2 day breaks lead to a 5% increase in re-gain. I decided to cycle this idea more to see whether there'd be a real long-term change.
The Change: 2-3 lbs of regained weight (per week) per every 2-3 lbs lost.
It felt like I was on a hamster wheel.
I decided then to slow my workouts, keeping the intensity but decreasing duration to 30-45 minutes per day - 5 days a week. End results took longer to achieve but the change was LASTING.

Maybe some wouldn't see the change I've underwent but for me, it's huge. From 146 lbs to 116? That's an accomplishment.
